AAS students traditionally visit the Elderly friends from ‘Milosurdie’ Hospice and the Pensioners club. Some of our HS students remember the place and the people from previous visits. The Elderly home is still decorated with a Christmas wreath made 15 years ago by more than 20 hands prints of second graders. Our meetings are always hearty and emotional.
This week Grade 9&10 Bulgarian Mother Tongue class paid the visit. The students wrote and made beautiful Christmas cards and cooked delicious lunch which we shared. Some of them read their original short stories written in Bulgarian class. Among the elderly, there are former poets, actors, professors, teachers and journalists, so the students were lucky to receive in return poems, more stories and memories. What an exciting lunch it was. Time spent together has always been extremely short, so we will continue with our visits as often as possible.
