Case Response
When to Stay at Home
All students, staff must remain at home if displaying any of the following symptoms:
- Temperature higher than 37.6 C;
- Respiratory symptoms – sore throat, cough, sneezing, runny nose, breathing difficulties;
- Sore muscles, aches or chills;
- Loss of smell and/or taste;
- Vomiting or diarrhoea;
- Skin rash/ fingers or toes discolouration.
If the student was in contact with someone displaying COVID symptoms or was diagnosed with COVID in his household or elsewhere, the division (ES or MS/HS) office must be informed.
Temperature Checks
Bus drivers, bus monitors, and all students will have their temperature checked before being allowed on the school buses. All students not arriving by bus will have their temperature checked before being allowed out of the parking lot and onto campus. All contracted staff, visitors, and guests to campus will have their temperature checked before being allowed out of the parking lot and onto campus.
Restriction from Campus Due to Travel
AAS will follow the Bulgarian Government requirements for self-quarantine for anyone traveling outside of Bulgaria.
Restriction from Campus Due to Symptoms
Anyone who has symptoms of the virus, has been in close contact with someone who has symptoms, or has been exposed to a confirmed case will not be permitted on campus. Depending on the nature of the exposure, AAS staff will determine the length of time that the person may not come on campus.
Confirmed COVID-19 Case
If a student, staff member, or family member test positive for COVID-19, they have an obligation to inform the school immediately and self-isolate. Any exposed students, staff or community members must not come to school during this time.
