    PRINCIPAL’S ASSISTANT -MATERNITY COVERAGE

    The Anglo-American School of Sofia is looking for a long-term maternity coverage (1 year+) for the position of MS/HS Principal Assistant.
    The MS/HS Principal Assistant works very closely with the Middle-High School Principal. The job of MS/HS Principal’s Assistant was established for the purposes of providing complex and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the MS/HS Principal; conveying information regarding school functions and procedures; ensuring efficient operation of support functions; ensuring compliance with school’s financial, legal and administrative requirements; and overseeing assigned projects and school activities. The Assistant must be creative and enjoy working within an environment that is mission-driven and community oriented.This position interfaces with all stakeholders in the AAS Community, and often beyond.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION:

    • Minimum of bachelor’s degree, complemented by requisite certification and training
    • Three years or more of successful administrative experience
    • Experience in an international setting desired
    • Fluency in both Bulgarian and English (reading, writing, spoken)

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assists the MS/HS Principal with everyday tasks, duties and obligations;
    • Manages the MS/HS Principal’s calendar in scheduling appointments; classrooms observations, meetings, etc;
    • Answers telephone calls, transferring, taking messages, and responding to inquiries;
    • Greets individuals entering the building (e.g. visitors, parents, students, vendors, etc.) and/or directs individuals to appropriate location in accordance with established building security procedures;
    • Compiles data from a wide variety of sources (e.g. student information, work orders, attendance, etc.) for the purpose of preparing reports; making recommendations; complying with financial, legal and/or administrative requirements; and/or preparing information for assigned administrator.
    • Distributes items within the school (e.g. mail, orders, special delivery, messages, homework, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring receipt to addressee.
      Maintains a wide variety of manual end electronic documents, files, and records (e.g. budget data, reports, administrative records, all forms, student files, etc.)
    • Orients new personnel (e.g. substitutes, staff, volunteers, etc.) regarding appropriate school practices (e.g. keys, folders, directions, building procedures, etc.) for the purpose of effectively assimilating new personnel and/or volunteers into school operations;
    • Performs general clerical functions (e.g. scheduling copying, faxing, data entry, filing, keyboarding, e-mailing, answering telephones, etc.)
    • Prepares a wide variety of reports, documents and correspondence of a confidential and non-confidential nature (e.g. budgets, memos, letters, discipline letters, fire drill reports, etc.)
    • Procures supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items.
